Can I get my passport on the same day with visitor visa in NY office

I'm planning to submit the submit my Canada visitor visa documents in person. Can I get my passport n the same day while i wait at the consulate office in New York? I did this in the past and got my passport in the afternoon. Please advice I'm planning to go to Canada for US visa stamping. This is urgent. Thanks

Hi thanks for all ur responses. My US visa is expiring on may 15th.ive to get my visa stamped in canada / India before that time. Do u think I'll get canada visa before that and can plan my visit? Plz advice.

Any experience on how long is it taking?
