Hi, My PR application is still in progress. However, i've received the BOWP, that i've applied via my employer. Can i look for a new job using my BOWP? My employer is ramping down.. and i might be asked to quit.
Once the BOWP is approved, then yes.Any idea if you can quit your current job and look for new employment with BOWP?
it should be fine as long as my crs score after discounting the points is still above the cutoff line right?Once the BOWP is approved, then yes.
Also assuming you didn't claim points for having a job offer.

you can work in any industries outside of the one specified in your closed work permitoh no, I have claimed points for job offer. But, what's the point in holding this BOWP then? It states
Employer: Any
Employment Location: UNKNOWN
Occupation: Open
The BOWP allows you to continue working without your employer getting a new approved LMIA. It does also allow you to switch employers. However if you've claimed points for having a job offer as part of your EE application, then I'm sure you can see why it's obvious that you can't find a new job and switch employers. You can't claim the 50 points and then ditch your employer. Then you don't actually have a job offer. You'd be risking refusal and also potential misrepresentation. You need to stay with that employer until you have PR.oh no, I have claimed points for job offer. But, what's the point in holding this BOWP then? It states

Thank You!! Hopefully, I get my PR approved soon.. BTW, it's the other way around. My employer might ask me to leave.. You can certainly apply for a BOWP. I would not switch employers until you have PR.Hello,
Please advice me on my situation below
I have applied PR 14 Jan 2020 under CEC and avail 50 points as part of job offer, i had 1 year of job offer. Current PR status is i have passed all the steps like eligibility, Background, security etc. Waiting for final decision. Meanwhile my current WP is expiring on 7th of FEB and my current employer is not extending the WP again. In this scenario can apply for BOWP and and search the job outside my current employer after 7 of Feb? Also Applying for current BOWP will impact my PR process?
