Can I Fill Tax Return With Expired SIN?

My sin got expired a month ago, I will apply for new one once I get my new work permit, but I still filled my tax return for 2024. I know I can fill it with expired SIN but will there be any problem when receiving benefit payments from CRA.


Also can I open TFSA account with expired SIN. I heard some institutions ask for valid one and some not but not exactly sure which ones.

You can file your tax return for 2024 but visitors or people without status don’t qualify for tax credits or other benefits.
