Hi! I hope everyone can read this and help me sith my inquiry.

I came here with a student visa and took one year program instead of two years due to unexpected early retirement of my father who obviously finances my education here. Met my (now) husband (Canadian citizen) same year when I arrived here 2016. We got engaged Dec 2017 and got married Jan 2018. Now my post graduate work permit will expire this November 2018. We are planning to apply for inland spousal sponsorship and hopefully submit all documents by July of this year. What should I do with my post grad work permit? Can I extend it? Or will they issue me a new one once we submit the application? Help! Thank you

No extension on a PGWP. You can apply for an OWP when you submit your inland PR spousal sponsorship.
Thank you for the response! So instead of extrnding it, I will apply for an open work permit instead while still holding a valid post graduate work permit?

There is no way to extend a pgwp. When you apply inland for spousal sponsorship you can apply for owp at the same time. Usually will take around 4 months to get. You will then go from owp to PR.
