Hi,

I am intending to go to Canada next year as I have been approved for the IEC visa which I am really excited about. I am a UK citizen who resides in Australia.

The problem I have got is that I need to enter Canada before February 22nd 2017 or my visa validity will expire.

However I am unable to start my visa until early May next year due to work and family commitments and I can't apply for a new visa because I am 31 years old so this is my last chance of my dream of working and travelling Canada.

I have been told I am not allowed to extend my visa validitiy period until May so I am planning on flying to Canada in early Februrary 2017 on a return flight so I can start my IEC visa and returning to Australia the next day, then I will return to Canada in May on my IEC visa which I started a few months earlier.

Obviously this is going to sot me a lot of money and a lot of hours flying to and from Canada to make sure I have started my visa before it expires so I am trying to find out if anyon ehas been in this situation before.

Will I be allowed to enter canada if they know im leaving straight away and not returning til may? Any help will be much appreciated! The last thing i want to be doing is spending thousands and hours on flying to canada to be told they wont let me start my visa because im leaving the next day.

Thanks

this is no issue at all people do this all the time all you need to make sure is that you can show travel insurance policy covering the full 2 year term else you wont get full term, proof of funds at least 2500 cdn, passport valid for full term as well. Hand over your POE letter to the CBSA officer and they will issue your IEC work permit and just answer any questions honestly, no need to even volunteer you are doing a flying visit unless asked. Of course if you dont take the direct flight from Australia to Vancouver you will need an Esta to transit the US just saying but am sure you already taken that into account.

Thank You, you've put my mind at rest. I am flying via Dubai to Toronto so no need for the ESTA but thanks anyway!
