Can i drive Uber on Close Work Permit

I got work permit W-1 and i got sponsored from my company to canada from india!

My work permit stats that i can't work with any other employer but i called uber today and they told that if i am a uber driver than i am called self employed.

So my question is, can i drive uber officially as its self employed on my work permit.

No - you cannot be an uber driver on a closed work permit. That will be working illegally and will put your status in jeopardy. You can only work for the employer specified on your work permit. Self employment is still working for someone other than your employer - therefore illegal.
