Hi guys,
I’m got myself in quite an inconvenient situation here. I just sent my passport to CPC Ottawa for PR visa and CoPR issuance (hallelujah!). I expect it to come back sometime next week.
The problem is that I travel to US very frequently, and before I received a PPR email I already had flights booked to US for January and February. The fares are non-refundable. I am aware of the fact that a holder of a passport from a non-exempt country has to have a PRTD in order to board the plane, and I’d happily apply for one right after I land but I cannot do it from within Canada, and my trips are only 3-4 days long, so I do not have time to do it in the states. I am also aware that my current TRV will be invalid after I land.
So my question is can I defer my landing? I currently have a valid work permit and work visa. Can I cross the border having CoPR on my hands without landing? Or is landing mandatory on the first border crossing?
Any input would be greatly appreciated Happy New Year!
