Can I claim this as work experience?

I'm currently living and working in the UK. At the end of my postgraduate study and while i was waiting for my current visa to be granted I was legally allowed to stay in the UK.

During this 6 month period I worked as a remote web developer / database admin for a company in Turkey. The work was full time but the company paid the money into my parents bank account in Turkey as I was still getting money from then to fund my stay here and wanted to help them with it. The money i was getting wasn't much in terms of pounds due to the weak turkish lira anyway.

The person who managed me is still working at that company so I can get a letter of reference on company paper etc but I'm unsure if this still counts as work experience for EE since I can't prove that I got paid. I mean I have payslips but they show my parents account instead of mine but still have my name on it.

I'm currently waiting for my 1 year of work experience to be completed (not counting this) but was wondering if i can include this as well.

To be safe, as it's just 6 months, you can always just list it under personal history but as long as the payslips have your name on it then it shouldn't be a problem. Just explain in your letter of explanation.

I'm just about to complete my first 6 months in the UK where I've been working self employed as a director (and only employee) of my company where I basically do the same job. Was hoping maybe I can merge the 2 experiences in my EE application.

Reckon it's a better/safer idea to just wait for 6 more months to have this 1 year experience?

I'd play it safe rather than get punished for misrepresentation.

Also remember it needs to be continuous work of 30+ hours a week in the same NOC... with no break in between. I think they allow up to a 3 week break.

Yeah I'll just play it safe. For example if i worked for 1 year but 3 months were without any clients I'd have to work 1 year and 3 months right to make up for it?
