So I'm officially done with my Masters in Canada. I just asked the registrar for a statement saying that I have completed all my degree requirements and am just waiting on the senate approval and convocation in late October to officially receive my diploma.

From what I understand, I can submit this document for my PGWP. But my question is, can I now claim a Masters degree when I enter the immigration pool or will I have to wait until convocation day do claim the additional points for the Masters.

Last thing I want is to be blacklisted by IRCC for providing false info.

In my limited knowledge, it matters only once you submit your application. You have to submit your degree certificate and transcript along with other documents to prove this. But, considering the corona pandemic, are you sure your convocation and stuffs will happen as planned?

Why not wait to complete your approval and convocation before entering the pool? When you receive ITA, you will have to scan and upload your diploma which will have a date on it. I think that the date should be before the date you create your profile and claim your Masters.

What if you enter now and get ITA this month?

Our convocation is on zoom of all things lol. So I'm 100% sure on the date of Oct 22. That being said, I should have the diploma in my mailbox by the end of that month.

Yeah, that's what I was worried about. I don't want to look like I'm misrepresenting my application. I guess it won't hurt waiting a month or 2. On convocation day, I guess I will enter the pool, and once I receive my ITA I should have my diploma in the mail. I have 60 days to submit all my documents anyways.

Thanks for your input!
