Can I bring family member to oath ceremony if they're applying to citizenship?

Hello everyone,

My oath ceremony is tomorrow and there is a document for accompanying persons and interpreters. It says that the accompanying person must not have a citizenship application in progress.

My mom, who has an application in progress, wants to come with me as a guest? Is she not allowed to do so?

Thanks!

I'm just double checking since they used "accompanying person" in this document vs "guest" which they asked to bring 2 max.

The accompanying person would be someone that helps you with the process and CIC agents, for example for old people who don't speak english of french.
Anyone can be a guest, so your mom is most welcome to your ceremony.

Congrats and welcome to the canadian family !! :)
