Can I book flights and go after applying?

I've applied for a work permit online, and got confirmation that they received my application, but nothing else so far.

Can I book flights and go?

I've heard that people have done this and have just gone with the details of their application and then they're given a work permit at the airport. Does it still work like this or has the system changed?


Any help would be really appreciated as I don't want the price of flights to go up! thankyou!

Do you hold a visa exempt passport?

What kind of work permit have you applied for? Is it supported by an approved LMIA and job offer? Or have you applied under a different stream.
