Can I apply for tourist visa

I have applied for Express Entry for Canada .can I apply for tourist visa now as my brother convocation is there and he has sent me university invitation letter.
Does applying the tourist visa will affect my application for PR?

You can apply for a visitor visa, and it will not affect your PR application. But keep in mind that you need to show strong ties to your country such that the officer will be convinced that you plan to go back after attending your brother's convocation. Good Luck!
