Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi,

So I have been offered for a skill level A job with a 1-year contract. But that is an hourly based (payment in every 15 days) full-time job. My question is, will I be able to apply for CEC after 1 year for Express entry with this job? FYI: I am with FSWP.

If no, do you have any suggestion to edit the contract so that I will be able to apply for CEC (e.g. monthly payment or something like this)?

You need 12 months of work experience in a full-time position. Full-time means at least 30 hours / week.

Or 24 months part-time = 15 / week, which would not apply to you.

There is no requirement that you be paid on a monthly basis. Many people with hourly wages qualify.

I would recommend keeping good records of the # of hours you work every week. E.g. if you have to submit timesheets, make sure you keep a copy of every time sheet.

Finally, keep in mind that 1 year is the MINIMUM requirement. If you are a week short, you do not qualify. If you can negotiate it with your employer, a 13- or 14-month contract (or even 54 weeks instead of 52) would give you a little extra assurance that you will be able to qualify.

FYI: I am with FSWP.
Don't know what you mean by this. Do you mean you have already applied for PR under the FSW program?

you need 12 months and 1560 hrs minimum not 11 months regardless of number of hours you personally have worked as per http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/apply-who.asp

No - you have to wait until you have worked 12 months.

I am having some confusion. I was working as full time after I got a confirmation letter from my University stating that I have completed all the program requirements. I don't know if I can count implied status work as a work experience towards my CEC application.

Study permit with Off-campus permit expiry: 31-March-15
Got completion letter from University: 12-Dec-14
Started working as full time: 5-January 2015
Applied for my PGWP: 29-January-15
Was on implied status from 1-April-15 to July-15
Approved PGWP: July-15 (due to slow process)
Work permit expiry: July-16
LMIA (PR Support) expiry : Oct-16

My employer helped me getting an LMIA (PR support LMIA) to fetch enough points for PR invitation. Now, If I count my implied status work experience I am eligible to submit my application right away but I am not sure if I suppose to count that. Also, If I wait for july to complete my one year work experience, my work permit will expire and I wont be able to work. Say for example. I wait for my one year experience and then submit my application for CEC, am I still be able to use 600 points from my LMIA?? since my work permit will be expired and I will be on Visitor visa or applying from my home country.

Can anyone please guide me on that. Thanks :)
