Hi All,

I am working in Canada as a full timer for more than a year. My wife is in India. I am planning to apply for our PR (EE) this month. Is it fine that I will be applying for PR for both of us even though I am in Canada and my wife is in India?
I have less understanding on immigration processes and hence asking. Thanks in advance for your time and reply.

It's fine for you to do this, and it's perfectly acceptable provided you have the proper documents for her to apply, or that she can get them for you.

In other words, your spouse (and children, if any) is part of the package, no matter where she is, and is expected to be included. You will have to show evidence of your legal relationship, but not as much as would be required for a spousal sponsorship.
Conversely, if your spouse is not admissible to Canada for any reason, your application will be refused. Not that I'd expect that to be the case . . .

Thanks a lot for your reply. One follow up question. She is also planning to come to Canada in October on her travel visa (multiple entry visa - she has already got the visa but unable to travel due to lockdown scenario). During that time, our PR application might be in progress. Will that cause any problem for her travel?

It's up to CBSA at that point. Most likely she'd be fine, but it is a decision taken by the CBSA officer.
This makes me slightly concerned that the fate will be decided by a CBSA officer even though we have no criminal or foul play record in any countries. Would you suggest that I proceed with my PR application after she comes to Canada?

No apply as soon as you can for PR. Would buy a return ticket for her. You can cancel when she arrives
