Can I apply for PCC (India) with my Canada visa expired, but valid Work Permit?

Hi Guys,

I have to apply for Police Clearance Certificate India as I got ITA in Express entry. I am currently working in Canada with an open work permit valid till 2017.
But my VISA got expired last month. Can any one confirm if there will be any issue with the PCC if VISA is not active?

usually BLS will ask for only work permit. I think there wont be any issues. But they will collect your passport also. Dont know if they will check the VISA status.
