Can I apply for open WP after receiving ITA and submitted the documents?

Hi everyone,

I have just received an ITA from the last draw .
Now I was wondering if it was possible to apply for an open WP after submission of all my documents?
I would like to know if this is possible because my current contract ends in December and my boss would like to extend my contract by a couple of months.
Ideally he would like to avoid going through the LMIA process again since it is just temporary and I'm not sure if CIC will manage to process my application by end of November (although they state that it should not exceed 6 months).

Has anyone of you went through a similar case so far?

thanks a lot for the link! Seems like no LMIA is required then unless I messed up something in my document upload.

Don't think your employer will need to apply for a new LMIA. You will probably be a PR before you need the work permit.

As you said, hopefully all is well with your application.
