Hi everyone,

I graduated from SFU with a honour degree this Dec. I have just mailed out my application for the PGWP.

Meanwhile, I am wondering if I can also submit an application for the spousal work permit for myself based on my CL partner' SP (valid till 2017).

I notice that it is the same unit 555 processes both type of applications.

If I do so, will it have any effects on my PGWP?

Please share your opinions and advice. Thanks much.

1. If you get approved for OWP, your PGWP will get cancelled automatically.

Thank you very much for your response!

1) In that case, can I still apply for CEC (I have secured a FT position starting in May 2013)?

2) If I send out an online application, can I withdraw it before it is processed? Or I can't once I have it submitted?

Thank you again.

To apply for CEC, you first need to complete one year of full-time, skilled work experience. It isn't enough to secure a full time position. You must complete one year of full time work before you can even apply for CEC.

1. Based on your OWP and education in Canada, you can apply for CEC with required work experience.
2. At least for PGWP, I do not think if there is anything like withdrawal of application.
