Hello Guys
I came to Canada in 2008 January. And my PR card expired in 2013 January.

1. Would there be a problem in staying with an expired card? (I have stayed in Canada since the day I came here).

2. Now I have decided to apply for citizenship. Do I have to renew my PR card before I can apply for citizenship or can I apply for it with the expired card.

3. If only i could apply for citizenship with expired Pr card. In the citizenship doc requirement it asks for a copy of the PR card, is it okay to the copy of the expired card

Thank you very much.

You don't have to renew PR card in order to stay in Canada or to apply for Citizenship application. However the only time you require a valid PR card when you travel outside of Canada and as in ID you don't have to send a copy of expired PR there are several other IDS you can send such as health card, driver licence etc etc.
