Can I apply for asylum in Canada if I have an asylum case in America?

I am Syrian and have arrived in America, where I applied for asylum. However, the process is very lengthy, and it has been two months since I submitted my application without any response. I have a younger brother who is in Canada and working there married from canadian woman, and honestly thinking about crossing the border to apply for asylum there since he is in Canada and i will be nearby to him. My question is, is this possible considering that my country (Syria) is at war, and my brother is my full sibling? There is no other country that can accept me. And if I leave USA now they will not allow me to back to it.

Try to support me please.

What is your brother’s status in Canada?

There's a risk the minister may intervene since you already have an active claim in the US. Recommend that you get a consult with a very good Canadian immigration lawyer before you make any moves to come here.

Ok do you know a very good canadian immigration lawyer ? (Just to follow his pass)

In USA I applied for asylum but they did not say that they accept me, I am in process now for them to " make interview for me " to study my case. The interview will be held after 2 years maybe and maybe more .... unfortunately this is the process here... it takes long time just to look to my case.

Not allowed to get work. Not allowed to get ID.
Not allowed to get health care.
Not allowed to get driving licesne.

And if you worked you will be illegal... They put you in a situation where you either become a criminal or break the law, and then they hold you accountable for that later.
I left my country because I want to live freely and work legally, and I cannot go back. I feel like I'm facing pressure that is hard for my mind to handle. My reserved money almost finish.

You do realize you don’t automatically get accepted here ? Right ? Can take years
And risky since you’re already safe

And it takes along time to look into a case here

Wanting to "live freely and work legally" isn't actually grounds for asylum. What are the actual grounds you are (or plan) to claim?

You can claim asylum in Canada as you have a family member here. You won't be able to go back to US though and you will probably have to withdraw that claim.

The fact you are facing these challenges in the US doesn't make any difference with respect to a possible refugee claim in Canada. If you read through the information here, you will see that having a refugee claim in another country is one of the factors that can make you ineligible to claim refugee status in Canada: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/refugees/asylum/claim-protection-inside-canada/eligibility.html

I don't have a lawyer to recommend however hopefully someone else does. I think it's critical you get legal advice before you abandon your claim in the US.

Would add whether you have been living in Syria this whole time except the rebel held areas that may also influence your ability to get asylum.
