Did anybody here encounter this?

U can apply for US visa from any where. PR adds value to your status

Thank you to all who replied...

Did you try applying for US tourist visa?

thanks!

Yes, you can! They need to be convinced that you will be back to Canada and you are going to US just for a visit. They might ask you the job details, salary slips etc. I know people in work permit who are getting US visa's easily. so do not worry ;D ;D ;D

Is it okay if the job is semi-skilled..? do they only give visas to highly skilled people??What if someone was working as a full time cashier?

My wife applied and was approved a US tourist visa in Canada. She is also PR holder, not working and she told the visa issuing officer that she wants a visa so as to accompanying me (the Canadian citizen) for weekend cross border shopping ;D.

thanks for all the replies.....

I will apply as soon as I move in Canada, theres a big chance I will be granted a tourist visa since I stayed in US for almost 7 yrs under working visa and my visa will be expiring soon so I need to get a tourist visa to visit US.
