I had applied in April'08 received my file number in July'08 but according to the new list of 38 my profession is not in it. I am a Diploma in mechanical engineering(10+2+3) with 16 years of experience all in manufacturing as Quality Engineer which is NOC 2141.

I had earlier scored 73 points as against 67 required. My wife is a house wife with with a degree in Arts but no work work experience. I have worked in three different companies so far. The first was a multinational passive electronics components manufacturing, second was a electrical engineering company and now my third is a oil & gas engineering company.

Now I don't stand a chance since my occupation is not listed in the new list. Is there any other way i can apply?????

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
If you fill requirements for Quebec skilled worker including speaking french, you can apply for that

You can still apply for federal skilled worker if you get a job offer approved by service canada (AEO)

I don not have french qualifications & I cannot at this point of time think of joining french classes as the oil prices have just plummeted to US$34/Barrel.

Is there a second list coming out in the future? if so when will it be any idea about it? I am presently working in an oil & gas engineering company so any possibilities of my profession being included in the future?

Nobody knows if or when they will revise the list. Just keep checking the CIC website every month or so to catch any changes. But you could still look to get a job offer to be able to apply.
