Hi, I am from Venezuela and I have been working as an university professor of Mathematics and Statistics since 2005, but I have never worked full time, I have been working for few hours a week (less than part time). In 2009 I got a job in another university also as a lecturer and with the two jobs I have now 18 hours per week, which is equivalent to a part-time job. I have tried to get a full time job, but due to the crisis in my country the universities have no budget to extend the hours to their professors and lecturers and are only hiring them for few hours a week. My main duties are teaching classes, assisting students, teaching clasess in labs. I have a Master degree in Statistics and I'm a PhD student but I still have two years forward to finish my PhD and I'm worried for my age because I'm 39 and two years I'll be 41 and maybe I will not have any chance to apply. I have a good English level but I don't speak French. And I have never been in Canada, so it's very hard for me to get that desired 67 points. I'm desperated to leave my country because the economical and political problems are getting worse and it could be worse if I wait longer. I only want to know if I can apply for the Immigration visa with my current working experience: 9 years working 8 hours per week and 5 years working 8+10=18 hours per week in two different universities. I have not written any journals or books either, since my job is mainly teaching classes. Or don't I have any chance at all?
Thanks in advance.
