Hi everyone,

I need some advice regarding my situation with foreign work experience and Express Entry. Here’s my story:

• I have 1 year of full-time work experience from my home country.

• First 7 months: Gained during my B.Tech final year (while studying).

• Next 5 months: From a different company after graduating.

• When I applied for my study permit and later my work permit for Canada, I did not mention this work experience due to improper advice.

• Now that CRS scores are really high, I want to include this work experience in my Express Entry profile since I have all the relevant documentation to support it (e.g., reference letters, payslips, etc.).

My questions:

1. Will including this work experience cause any problems with my PR application?

2. Could this omission in my earlier visa applications lead to complications, even though I didn’t intend to misrepresent?

3. Has anyone else been in a similar situation, and how did it go for you?

I really appreciate any advice or personal experiences you can share. Thanks in advance!

1. Will including this work experience cause any problems with my PR application? - At the discretion of the visa officer.

2. Could this omission in my earlier visa applications lead to complications, even though I didn’t intend to misrepresent? Attach a LOE explaining your situation.

3. Has anyone else been in a similar situation, and how did it go for you? Varies from case to case.

Ultimately, it's on the visa officer who reviews your file and how that officer perceives it. Make sure your LOE is very strong! All the best!
