Can I activate my study permit by flying back from the US to Vancouver?

I’m currently in Canada on a visitor visa and recently had my study permit approved.
I understand that to get the printed permit, I need to leave Canada and re-enter.
I’m planning a short trip to the US (possibly Seattle) and hoping to activate my permit when flying back into Vancouver International Airport (YVR).

However, I’ve heard that CBSA may no longer issue study permits when re-entering from the US, even by air.

Has anyone recently done this (in 2025)? Was it successful?
Any recent experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much!

Should be fine. Think you may be getting confused with flagpoling which is no longer allowed but that is something different.
