I live in SK. I will be eligible by the end of December and also planning to move to ON after my application.

I want to send in the application while am in SK and fly after that to ON. Obviously I will update them about my new home address once I settle down in Ontario within the next weeks after.

So can I have Sask Home address and Ontario Mailing address (friend's)?

Will this address difference call for an RQ?

Since you are planning on moving to Ontario within a couple of weeks, can't you wait until you settle in Ontario and then send it. That way there is no confusion on CIC's part. You have both perm address and mailing address the same.

True. But am moving in search of jobs and don't know how long it would take to settle down in a permanent accommodation. Until then i would be just boarding with a few people. Am not comfortable in putting such "highly transient" address in the application. I once lost my driver's ID in post in a similar situation.

The first 2 months you will not receive any mail from CIC just make sure the application is complete and nothing is missing, so don't say anything about your address change for now. Once you settle down in Ontario you can update your address. In the meantime if you can stay in touch with your landlord and ask once in a while if there is any mail for you that'll be great.
I applied june 20 and the first mail I received(AOR) was on sept 10

They can sure be used but so CIC will mail you all correspondence to the mailing address but then background check will be done on both addresses. Also they may request that thing to verify that you really live in Canada. So nothing is wrong with that but since u not sure how things may go when u move to Ontario then and you don't know how long ull be in Ontario for. I would use just one address just make sure you get all correspondence update from SK while in Ontario.

Another safe option may be:
Keep your Sask address(only) on application and redirect your mails using Canada Post mail forward to a friend/relative's permanent address until you settle down in Ontario. This way you neither "confuse" CIC/call for RQ nor risk missing mails/return (if any).
Once you got a permanent place update CIC and cancel mail forwarding with CP.

Keep SK address till you keep that address on Driving license and till you keep SK health card. Just my opinion.

Thanks guys. Appreciate it.

I called CIC and the agent told the same, that it would be two months before any mailing. But he also confirmed that the home address location will be used to assign the processing office, until I update the home address to a different province. And any out of province address change will also obviously have time impact in moving the files, assigning an officer and the likes.

So I might end up waiting altogether until I have a place to call home and be assured of mail receipts, regular processing and such. No point in creating rooms for unnecessary anxiety for a very long time, all in to get a few weeks of time gain. Anyways giving myself another 15-20 days buffer is also a good idea I guess.

Canada Post will not able to forward mail from CIC. Mail from CIC will have "do not forward mail" on it. The OP will have mail forwarded but any CIC mail will not.

Oh thanks. Didn't know that.
This is why you have to make sure CIC have the latest mailing address by calling CIC. Online address change works but not 100% reliable. You have to make sure CIC is using the right address.

Plus preventing mail forward prevent fraud. Applicants could have their mail forwarded outside Canada.

I believed so too but not correct. Just have two mails received from CIC a week ago, still on my desk but no where I can see "Do Not Forward" on it. If you are able to see it on your mails please let us know. I still remember seeing it on PR Card/Passport mail deliveries and some other (not all, may be some CRA) mails earlier though. So at least for the first few mails/weeks there will be no issues. If I get time will make sure from CP anyway.

FYI: Real fraudsters never give chance for suspicion by forwarding mails abroad.
