Hello

I Have been in Canada for 3 years and 3 months ,Can I apply for my citizenship or it is after 4 years I can apply? I heared that the new government is taking it back to 3 years?

is that been officially or not yet?

The current rule is 4 out of 6 years. But there is a bill that will change it to 3 out of 5. It has not passed yet, though it eventually will. As for when the new rule will go into effect, no one knows.

Thanks for your reply
Could you please help me to brain storm my mind to think of all supportive documents I will need to prepare for my citizenship file????
I hear from firends that they need almost every bill, rent contracts, phone contracts,to support my file

If you have not traveled much outside Canada since you became a PR, you don't need much. Useful documents would be records of your employment history, any rental agreement for an apartment, tax records. If you have a lot of travel outside Canada, then CIC will be more suspicious and you will want to keep records of all your travel
