My dad is planning to seek asylum in Canada as conditions in our home country are getting worse every day.
Can somebody explain to me what is the process is and if it is necessary to have a lawyer, what documents does he have to bring? He might be doing an application from within Canada.
Also, he is doing some stops on the way here but as I understand if he has family in Canada he is allowed to apply for asylum regardless if he has been in the US previously, right?
Can somebody guide me through this? or is it as simple as downloading the application package at the CIC website and submitting it to the office.
Also, his English is not the best. Will that affect it?
