Hi every one,
This is the first time to post in this nice site as I got it from my friend who advised me to post my questions

Please all I need advice,
Immigrated and became PR with my family in June 2008 , Applied for citizenship Oct 2011, QR was Requested May 2012 , My QR was sent to them Aug 2012 and I waited (about 3 years) till I contacted MP to move the file, they move it from St Claire Toronto to Scarborough , then I got test and interview last week and I passed , they told me everything is done BUT criminal checks was expired , so they sent to Ottawa to get it , My question , why they requested it from Ottawa, not from Toronto , and what type of checks ? and how long its takes ? because after I should get the Oath..

Hi Abdo2016,

sorry to hear that your application is taking so long to get finalized but surely you are near the end and you should be a canadian citizen as soon as the criminality check is done.
the answer to your question is within your post,it is the criminality check they are doing and its done in ottawa for all citizenship and permanent resident applicants no matter where in canada they live.

Thanks for you post , do you have any idea about the time it's take ? And what type of checks ? I'm already clear without any records , but just worry from the time !!!

Should take a month they are submitted in batches. OATH depends on the list the local office has

The RCMP and other checks at done at Ottawa, its takes few weeks to couple of months.

Valid security clearance is mandatory to invite you for Citizenship Oath ceremony.
