I am a fully licensed CPA from US. Before I landed, although I have done some research on job market in US in advance and made some worse assumption, however, after I landed, things/reality are much worse than I had expected. I have sent out so many resume out, but still nothing solid came back. Only 2 recruiter interviews, but no show any more. Then I tried to apply for some junior level and even bookkeeper positions, still no show.

Do you think I am "that's it" situation? I have to go back to study another master program in Canada (I've already got a master program in USA and gained 5+ years of working experiences in US too, not BIG 4 though...)? Looks like here in Canada, people only recognize local experiences, US experience does not count that much.

Hope you could shed some bright light to me in the future.

I was thinking whether I should apply for CA. For us US CPAs, it looks simple, apply and take an exam. What I am afraid of is that after getting CA title, employers still may say, sorry but you don't have experience (or education) in Canada. If that is very possible, I might not do anything while we are here, just wait for the right time we can move back to Japan.
