Hello, I need some advice if anyone is familiar with the topic. I am a US citizen that is concerned for my safety in the current chaotic and spiraling democracy. I want to visit Canada for the 90 days and evaluate the safety at that time. I have an eBay business and I am wondering if I would be able to continue e-commerce with eBay while a visitor to Canada. I’ve read in one place that as long as I don’t compete with Canadian businesses and only sell to outside Canada, this would be permitted. But I’ve also read that this would still be considering “working” and not authorized without a work visa. Does anyone have any info on this? I would greatly appreciate the help

EBay has offices in Canada so that is the first problem. I also assume you may be actively sending product from Canada which would also be considered illegal work. Without concrete employment in the US you could also end up being denied entry if there are concerns your ties to the US are not strong enough. There is also not a clear pathway for you to remain in Canada permanently so would research economic immigration or work options before you consider visiting Canada if you want to consider moving to Canada. Entering or remaining in Canada longterm may not be as easy as you think.
