Can a refugee claimant apply for a study visa?

Hi all,

My claim got denied. I am thinking about studying a PhD program and get a study permit. Can I do that? Please note that my claim has been rejected and appealed.

No your study visa will likely be rejected. It will be clear that you are trying to stay in Canada by other means.

You cannot apply from within Canada. You would need to apply from outside of Canada once you are back in your home country. Unfortunately the chances of being accepted will likely be very low due to your failed refugee claim.

I know one claimant whose refugee claim+appeal+federal+H&C were denied but eventually was granted for study permit.so best of luck.
