Hi all,

My wife and I are planning a trip to Canada, we live in Europe and are eTA eligible so I dont expect issues there. However we want to take my sister-in-law as well to spend some time with us. She doesnt live in Europe and is not eTA eligible. She has ties to her country (school-going children), has visited us in Europe before (and left) with a tourist visa but any work she has is with cash payments only and also the income is not substantial. We plan to cover all her expenses anyway however, so what is the best way to go about this for highest chance of success? Is there a way to sponsor her as a non-resident foreigner? Does it help to apply for a regular visa together? Does it even make sense to apply for a regular visa if you are eTA eligible. Any other tips are welcome

She applies for a TRV. There is no sponsorship for a TRV. She creates her own account and shows her own funds, ties to home country (children, job letter with approved leave), travel history (UK, US, NZ, AUS) and reasons to travel. You cannot apply together as she is not your dependant.
