Can a child have SIN while on Visit Visa, parents are on work permit

My wife and myself are on work permit. Our kid came with us on visit visa. As I was in Canada for more than 18 months so we got the Canada Child Benefit approved.

Now, I want to open an RESP account for my kid so I can put the CCB in it.

Can we get a SIN for our kid for the purpose of opining an RESP?

No, a visitor cannot get a SIN.
