so my question is there any chance : Can 3 years citizenship rule back by 2017.


i am confused about this immigration minister, first he says by July 1 2016, then he says end of this year.

so guys any idea ??

Since the folks on here know more than the Minister of Immigration, then I suppose ...

No one has no clue including the Minister himself.

No, what I am saying is no one knows at this stage. It is possible, I would say highly unlikely, because even if the bill receives Royal assent before the end of 2016; which is probably not going to happen since it is at the verge of being amended and sent back to House of Commons, then it will need time before it can be implemented, approximately a year.

And like Marcher says, this is just his guess too, it could end up being approved by year end and put in place quickly as it is reverting to an older policy for the 3/5 rules but Marcher's supposition is at least as likely. At this point it is a pure guessing game that will lead to nothing good so all you can do is wait.

True it is a guessing game, but one could make educated guesses based on precedents and reason. It does not make sense that they could easily revert to the old policy because it was in place before due to the different circumstances around it. The sudden increase of applications would be beyond capacity. In addition, the processing of applications is different since it does not go through three stages like before. In addition, the sensibility of the topic requires close scrutiny and assurance of the tools and methods used. Granting citizenship is a big decision, and the officials have to ensure no errors are committed before approving the application.
