Here is my background. (currently living in USA)

Feb 2021: received COPR and PR visa, through EE. The COPR expires in Feb 2022.
March 2021: got married
Oct 2021: baby was born

I submitted the information in webform but no response yet.

My understanding was that my COPR was expired when I got married in March. I need to wait for IRCC to get back to me and I need to add my wife & child to my application.

I called IRCC at 888-242-2100 this morning to confirm my understanding. Surprising I was told I have 2 options:
1: Wait for IRCC to get back to me with more instructions
2: Land Canada on my own with my existing COPR. Then I could apply for PR for my wife and child through family sponsor program.

btw my wife also applied for PR through EE before our marriage. However there was no updates for > 12 months after she got the medical done. She submitted webform informing the marriage status changes and is still waiting for response.

I am really confused about whether I can land myself. Should I talk to a lawyer?

Thank you ahead for any suggestions/comments.
