Need help from seniors.

I have applied for PR in Dec 2010, Got my IA in Sep 2011 with interview waive letter. Yesterday I got email from Buffalo asking to appear for an interview with my family in Apr 2012.

Is it normal , after IA and interview waive letter in Sep. 2011, Buffalo ask for an interview. What are the chances of PR, mean is it positive of negative.

I have concerned that my family has only single entry visa of Canada which is valid up to July 2012 and have valid Multiple US Visa too. If my family members go with me to US for an interview what are their chances to re-enter Canada as they have only single entry permit.

Is there any chances that after the interview I may be asked to submit passport for PR Visa and how long it would take.

Should I request to immigration officer to conduct an interview earlier than April 2012, as myself and family has valid US visa.

Your quick response would be highly appreciated.

I amn't sure about interview part. But based on my personal experience, you don't need re-entry visa to re-enter to Canada from U.S.A. only. You can come back by showing you hold valid work permit/ study permit/ visitor permit.

As far as I know, you can travel back to Canada from USA even on an expired Visa if you have a work permit/Visitor's record/Student permit, provided you remain in US all the time during your trip and do not go to any other country from there.
My wife has been to US and returned back to Canada on an expired Canada Visa as she had a valid Work Permit.

Hi - sorry to hear about this, what a pain. I can't answer your questions about visas, and I don't think you have much hope of rescheduling the interview, but I suppose it won't hurt to try. But first, try to figure out why you have been called - I have seen CIC applicants called for interviews before, but not where the whole family was called to attend. This suggests, to me, it is possible that the VO thinks maybe the marriage or some other family relationship is not legitimate.

So, first - order your CAIPS notes right away, to see if you can figure out what the concern is.

Second - were you lacking any identity documents for any of your family members? Birth, marriage documents, anything out of the ordinary? Add any family members after the initial application?

Sorry, I don't really have any other ideas at this point. This does strike me as a bit unusual for CEC class, tho.
