Then ask whatever question you have. If you want to know your application status, simply say "I was wondering if you could tell me the status of my citizenship application". The respond you'll get, of course, depends on the mood of the agent. Sometimes they directly ask for your client ID (have it handy) and a couple of security questions and check out your status. Sometimes, they first ask when you have applied. If it's less than 60-70 days, they'd tell you to call them back in a few weeks/months, depending the stage of your application.

What do you guys ask the agent when you call CIC? Do I just ask them what's the status of my file? Or do I ask specific questions?
