I'm trying to get some current and historical timeline data for the Calgary office. Please share your timelines only and only if your local office is Calgary. Hopefully we should be able to identify some trends and forecast future processing time. Thanks.

My timeline:

Citizenship
1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on October 2, 2013.

2. We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on October 2, 2013. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

3. We started processing your application on January 10, 2014.

1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on October 17, 2013.

2. We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on October 17, 2013. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

3. We started processing your application on January 21, 2014.


My received line disappeared on March 3rd and

I called CIC callcenter last week, they mentioned that my file has been transfered to Calgary on 27th March 2014...........have they transfered yours? keep me posted.

Thanks BOXSIR for sharing your timeline. Hopefully we will be able to get some more timelines in the coming days. Will be nice if we can get some from late 2012 and early 2013 or at least people who have received test notice.

Have you got an RQ ? anytime in 2012 ? because I have 2 different known people who got citizenship in Feb/March this year and one of them got RQ in Feb 2013 and wrote test in Feb and oath in March.

I was told the the file was transferred to local office last month.

Have you got an RQ ? anytime in 2012 ? because I have 2 different known people who got citizenship in Feb/March this year and one of them got RQ in Feb 2013 and wrote test in Feb and oath in March.

Yes I got the RQ in Nov 2012, and send it right away and since then nothing, I called them and they said the time line is 36 months , it is so long!

Transferred to local office Dec 18, 2013 (Calgary)

Called CIC yesterday they told me that since I didn't get an RQ I should get scheduled for a citizenship test within 18 months from the date I applied (i.e October 29, 2014) if not, I should call CIC call centre and they will take action (Whatever that means).

Btw I noticed that Calgary office is currently sending test invitations to people who's files have been transferred to local office in October 2013

Thank you so much for starting this thread. I am sure it will help us to have a better idea about the "current " processing trends of Calgary office.

I am a future Calgarian applicant and for sure , I will post my timelines here as soon as I apply.

Hi Everyone,

I've been able to compile all the timelines provided by the users on this thread. Please update this document a regular basis. To really establish a trend for these timelines we need more users sharing their timeline. Would be a great help if we can manage to get some timelines for people who have already received their interview and oath notification on ECAS. Ask family and friends. Thanks, hope this helps.
