Can someone tell me about calgary - both the negatives and positives.
I am a chemical engineer with natural gas engineering specialisation. But I have been doing non-technical jobs on and off for the last 4 years(after graduation). I have around 1 year of chemical experience. I m in the middle of my immigration application process.(got PER last week) I gave Calgary in my application, since it has oil industry (which I read in internet). I know nothing about the real job scenario.
I will be coming with my spouse, who doesn't have much qualifications (but ready to do any work-no ego).
We don't have much bank deposit. We will somehow land in Canada. but after that we wont be able to support ourselves with bank dep. we need to get some job. But at the same time, deep in my heart I want to do a job in my stream (chemical or oil). Yes, I am ready to do any other job, but that would only be after hiding a drop of tear at the corner of my eye.
But the most important factor is survival. What do you suggest? please be true.

Alberta is good for chemical engineers. But now job market is very dull due to slump in oil price. Most of the engg companies are laying off people now.
