Hello,

For someone to be eligible in EE, he must has at least 12 months of full-time job, 30 hours/week (1,560 hours).
However, for the NOC 4011 (University professors and lecturers), professors usually teach way much fewer hours, usually 6 or 8 hours per week, and the remaining time is used to conduct research for example or other duties.

So my question is how a university professor counts his work hours? the teaching hours are clear and "fixed" but the remaining hours are flexible and vary from one to one.

Must he counts only the teaching hours? (ex: 8 hours per week) or he can base on the title "full-time job" and say he is working 30 hours per week?

Best regards.

everywhere in the colleges or universities you need to sit certain number of hours/day irrespective of your teaching or research ours. Is not there any check and balance in your uni that u need to come at this time and sit till that time or u need to complete certain number of hours per week? You should talk to your Hr so that they can tell u this

No.. please read duties under NOC 4011 properly and understand those. Teaching/ lecturing is not the only duty. Your university/ college needs to specify the everyday working hrs and duties performed while you are there. Definitely not just hours you teach.

Thanks for reply.

I will be more spesific,
I understand the duties, but in my university (a government university), the HR provides job certificates without mentioning the job hours, so, they will not specify the everyday working hours in the job certificate.

Considering the fact that the professor's duties in my university are similar to those mentioned in the NOC 4011 and the job is considered as a full-time job.

Can I submit a job certificate without mentioning the working hours?

Best regards.

If you plan to submit reference letter from HR without exact working hours, must make them atleast mention that you are “Full time” faculty member. Then few ways to show your everyday working hours by using your attendance log/time sheets (preferably stamped by college) print for as long as you get and explain in LoE.
Another one is getting reference from senior staff member (even on a plain paper) eg. HOD or Principal, or a colleague from teaching faculty who will confirm that you work for 8 hr/day or 40hrs/week for example and attach their ID card (must) and visiting card (if possible)

YES, the reference letter from HR mentions that I work as a Full-time member,
In fact, the professor's duties usually (in most cases) pass the 30h/w, it's just that the reference letter cannot easily describe these duties due to their varieties for each member.

this actually for my sister;
she does have experience as an Associate Professor in an engineering college( from Aug 2010 to July 2017). She had to left the job due to her kid. Now the problem is, does she can apply under express entry and get eligible for experience points as she is currently unemployed.
Secondly, if she is eligible to apply and get her experience points, then her experience would be considered under NOC code 4011 or 4012.

please suggest and guide.

thanks in advance
