Cairo VO - how is the passport kept after requested?

Hi all,

The Cairo VO has been incredibly fast processinf my spouse's residenxy. On Dec 30th we reveived the confirmation his file is complete and were asked to mail his passport, which they will receive tomorrow as they reopen in 2017. I have read old reports of people being kept out of their passports for several weeks and am worried as we luve abroad and in the event of an emergency would have a hard time (ill family members).
Has anyone gone through this reventlt and could advise how long it took for the passport to be ready with its PR visa in it?

When i was applying for immigration 1 year ago
It took one week
They return it by post paid DHl which mean u have to pay for dhl

Thanks. I pre paid for the return courrier, hopefully it won't take long then.
We applied in the end of April. The file was transferred to Cairo VO on the first week of July. We were calles for an interview in October but postponed it till the ene of November. The passport request letter came one months after.
Things are moving fast!
