anytime you make an inquiry on your chart [through MP or CAIPS etc..] it does pull your chart out of the normal processing queue. It's hard to say how long it will take or affect the processing though, as it depends where they were in your file's timeline when it is pulled. It does get put back into processign queue, but can delay things slightly.

-not sure on how long/how much etc....

Sorry, wrong. The file is not pulled for a CAIPs request, as you apply to Canadian office, all they do is print off the CAIPS screens, has absolutely no effect on file processing.

Thanks for that clarification PMM, I was repeating what had been told to me by a recent PR Sponsor. That is good to know, as I was going to request the same, but had hesitated due to thinking it would slow things down.

Yeah there is a section in the form where it says whether you just want the printout or whether you want a copy of the whole file... this would delay things thats for sure.. but just a printout has no effect.. i think the embassy wouldnt even know..

Glad to know nothing is slowed down by obtaining C.A.I.P.S. notes as I obtained our's from Bogota a few months ago. As they hardly revealed anything new to me, I finally had a lady who works for our M.P. contact Bogota for information, considering it has been 9 months in Bogota. She recieved an e-mail or such, that it is waiting in the process. Probably 2-4 more months. So, my question would be, any ideas if it would actually slow anything down by much just having your M.P.'s office make an inquiry? I thought if anything, it may make them aware that our M.P.'s office is keeping them a little more on the ball. ( I doubt it will make much difference, but esp. PMM,or Robsluv, your knowledgeable comments are always appreciated by everyone on here ). TY

MPs inquiries really make little difference to the overseas office, just another request for information. They are replied fairly rapidity, but it doesn't make much difference in the processing time.
