Hey Guys.
I am about to apply for the CAIPS / GCMS notes at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5563E.pdf
I have few questions to ask. I hope i get some answers i am in canada right now with work permit so i will do it by my self
1. is this application GCMS or CAIPS?
2. the first question on the form ask if i want to select Access to information act or privacy act! what is the difference?
3. Section B says select Academia, BUSSINESS, MEDIA, ORGANIZATION, PUBLIC! which one should i use?
4.is it better to use physical or electronic file?
5. Question 5A it says to chose sponsor or sponsored? and B the info i am requesting to sponsor or sponsored? I am soo confused
Last one i have to pay $5 but by wich method? and if by money order, then to whom it will be paid?

1. GCMS replaced CAIPS, so it is GCMS.
2. Access to Information is what you want.
3. Public, if you are none of the others.
4. Do you want your actual file, or do you just want to see any notes? If it's the notes you want, request electronic. Requesting physical means they pack up your actual file, stop processing it, and send it to you.
5. Part 4A asks what kind of file you want. What kind do you want, an immigration file from a visa office, or the sponsorship file from CIC? If it is the immigration file notes from the visa office, you need to tell them if you are the sponsor or the sponsored person in 5A.

Last one: It says so at the top of the form: Receiver General of Canada.

I didnt get Question 5! I applied under fsw! so no one sponsored me! Which one one should i chose?
Also if i chose the physical that means my application will be cancelled and returned back?
