Hi everybody,
so here is a tricky one for you all. I've been working on and off for a large restaurant for over 5 years. I studied in the UK and got a bachelor's degree in HR. Upon my return home the restaurant offered me a manager's job which I took (NOC 1121). I have an arranged offer of employment that has been approved by HRDC 'on file' but they haven't actually sent out the letter to my employer yet. Whenever we call they keep telling us that they will send it out to us, but they never do , and this has been the case since Jan this year- should I be concerned or is this normal ?
I've been working as the HR manager now for 11months now and plan to stay there until I complete 52 weeks worth of work(which is the qualifying requirement, right?). In the meantime though I've applied for a one year's work visa through the student program with BUNAC. I called and asked them if this would interfere at all with my PR application and they told me that it was independent and would not affect it. Is this true ?
BUNAC allow you to apply under the student program up to a year from the date which you graduated (in my case any time from July 08-july 09), which I have done. By the time I leave I would have completed a year's worth of work for my company and then taking a year out to work in canada, except not for the company who has arranged employment for me (not at least until my permanent visa comes through, hopefully). My concern is that they will look at my application and see that I applied under the student program at the same time that I was accumulating my work experience and find that conflicting.
I mean how can a person who classified for a 1 year work visa as a student (which you have to state in the PR application) have been working full-time as a manager , right ?
I've applied for the BUNAC program because I am really anxious to go and I figure I can submit my PR application and wait out the processing time in Canada.
I hope that I am making sense here.
Also I was wondering; does it strengthen your case for the arranged job offer to be in the same position as your accumulated work experience , or should I be nervous about the fact that even though my job offer is in one of the NOC listings, it's does not reflect my work experience per se.
Thank you all in advance for any help, tips or advice; it really is appreciated.
