I'm just writing to give a bit of encouragement to those of you whose files are sitting in Buffalo. I submitted my documents to them in mid-January, got my AOR in early March, had my file transferred to Seattle in late April, and just received my medical request.
Time between document submission and medical request: 5 months
There are some things that might make my file move a bit faster:
- I have a B.A. from Canada and lived there for 4 years
- I'm American, so they don't need to verify language ability
- perhaps, I don't know, they can verify American work experience faster than in other countries
- my wife is a registered nurse
- we're using a lawyer, I assume that they submitted an attractive and organized file, unlike the messy, ugly file I would have submitted on my own
But there are other things that could have slowed down my file:
- I've lived in many countries, and am currently abroad
- my wife is foreign
- I was refused entry to Belgium once
- we added a baby to our file mid-way through
Anyway -- this is just a post for those of you who are waiting. It doesn't have to be a long time. Good luck!
