Okay so I recently recieved my aproval for sponsorship "Jan 14th, 2013" and am now waiting for the application to be sent to Buenos Aires VO to process my wifes application. At this moment Buenos Aires has 14 months to process 80% of applications. I also seen a spread sheet that stated that 20% of the apps where completed in 5 months, and 50% of the apps where done in 9 months?
Was wondering why some of the apps would be processed in as little as 5 months and whether my wifes application might also be processed quickly. My thought would be that extra time is taken for apps that might be missing information, relationships that might not look genuine or applications from Uruguay and Paraguay that would need more time to process. In the case of my wife's application we have been married for ten years and have two small children who recently recieved their canadian citizenship papers.
I just wanted some opinions on whether you think our application could be processed quickly providing everything is in order. I know it is impossible to accurately perdict when an application will be processed but some insight might help ease the nerves... :)

IMO the 50% stat will give you more of an "average". I have no idea why CIC uses the 80% stat on their website as basically its giving the numbers for the slowest 20% of apps the offices receive and doesn't reflect at all the actual times!

Since you've been married so long and have children, yours sounds like a very easy straightforward case. I would be optimistic you can fall in the quickest time of 5 months or sooner. Of course it all depends on the VO who opens your file and how they feel that day.

Thanks for the reply Rob_To. Ya I am hoping that it will be a quick process. 5 months would be great :). i'm now waiting to hear that Buenos Aires VO has recieved our application. CIC in Ottawa said it had been transferred to there when I recieved the notification of sponsership approval. Now who knows when they actually sent the application to Buenos Aires. Don't even know if it goes by regular mail or diplomatic pouch.
