Hi! I am in a weird predicament. I am Canadian but lived in the US for five years. I came home to Canada last year in March, because I was in an accident and needed my family. By August it was clear I couldn’t return given my health, so I mailed in my green card to the US border. However, I kept all my belongings at a friend’s house in the US. I’m now looking to move those belongings here, but I don’t know how to do it duty free given I didn’t know to fill out a form (BSF186) when I came in March.

Does anyone know how to deal with this? Can I bring the form to the border now

You can make a query with CBSA by phone first.
