Hi,
My brother is in USA.He went to study but left university and continued to stay in USA. We were all shocked by his decision. We had no idea that he was leaving university. He left university because he was depressed. He is still in US and has no plans to come back.My question is will it affect my permanent residency application in Canada.I am about to graduate very soon. The application asks you to mention your family names.Should i mention his name. What should i do?Will they reject my permanent residency application because my brother is staying illgally in USA.Please suggest

Your brother who is illegal in the U.S. has nothing to do with your PR application. In the future, if you arw able to sponsor your brother, then you can do so.

I don't think mentioning his name will have any serious bearing on your application... relax.

I suggest that you put his name down as not putting his name down also run the risk of you being concealing information ....

Provide your brother information. DOn't hide anything. It will not make any difference even if he is illegal in any country. You just have to provide his information here. That's fine.

they can't reject your application due to your brother if he is in Canada and he is illegal there still they can't reject . Because they access your case as per your points . They want your family name in case you sponsor them in near future that's it. So don't worry about your brother

family members include your wife(if you are married) and dependent child. No need to write your brother's name. To confirm, please see the family definition in Canada immigration guide. Anyhow, if you write your brother's name then his illegal residency will not effect your case.
