Hi, I would like to visit my boyfriend/partner in Canada for 6 months if possible. He is also a British Citizen, with PR status, I would be spending the duration of my stay at his address. I am new to the eligibility/ requirements for this kind of visit, therefore I would be very grateful for advice on the following basic questions:-
- Do I need to make an application to visit for this length of time?

- I have children aged 15 and 11 (not my partner's) will they be permitted to accompany me. If so, would they be allowed to attend school on a temporary basis, during our visit?

- If I decided to extend my stay a month before my return flights are due, would I be allowed to remain in Canada if my partner of 4 years sponsored me and my children?

I apologise if I have posted this in the wrong category, but at this stage I may not decide to stay longer than 6 months.

Many thanks

1. No, you don't require a visa to enter Canada.
2. You will need permission from their other parent to remove them the UK unless you were awarded sole custody by the courts.
3. They will not be able to attend school without a study permit, and you would be paying international rates, about $10K per year.
4. You would have to apply to extend your status prior to expiry of your status.
5. You would have to demonstrate sufficient resources to support yourself and family in Canada for that length of time.
