Hello All!

Im Ukrainian, PR in Ontario.
Currently looking for options to bring my partner to Canada.
She is Belarus citizen, currently officially residing and working in Europe.

We are not married, and won’t be able to submit under common in law as we were in a long distance relationship for some time.

As the most correct option I see is for us to get married outside of Canada.

question is: can I submit her under new canadian travel authorization for Ukrainians for quick entry after the marriage?
Or we need to follow the standard spousal sponsorship procedure?

Can I submit her within Canada and then stay outside while application is being processed?

thank you!

- Yes, the best option is to get married in order to qualify to sponsor your partner for PR. Right now you do not qualify to sponsor your partner.
- Yes, it appears your partner should qualify for the travel authorization after you are married. You will still need to sponsor your partner for PR regardless, following the normal process. The travel authorization is only a temporary visa and does not allow someone to live in Canada permanently. If your partner is able to travel to Canada, then you can submit an inland application. Otherwise you will need to go with an outland application.
- No, unfortumately you cannot stay outside of Canada while the application is being processed. Since you are a PR, you need to be living in Canada while the application is processed.
